Design Engineer – Are you fed up facing red tape?
Our Client, a specialised manufacturing company based in the Lisburn area, is currently looking to expand their 3D design team. This is a largely independent role geared towards a candidate with a highly proficient 3D modelling ability and technical understanding.
The largest selling point of this role is the high level of autonomy given to the designer to make decisions in both the design process and within the manufacturing facility itself. Our client mainly handles highly bespoke products, so each project you are working on will be vastly different to the last.
The Role:
This is an attractive position that will suit someone wanting to make significant impacts within a business. Each day will vary based on the current projects being undertaken, but examples of daily tasks include:
• Detailed parametric modelling of an array of bespoke projects.
• Maintaining correspondence with the operators on the shop floor and addressing issues as and when they arrive.
• Design for manufacture. All products being designed have to be feasibly manufactured in house.
The Person:
This role will be of big interest to a candidate coming from a good design background who is fed up coming up against obstacles and red tape enforced by senior management in there current position. It is a very involved and important role within the business, so the ability to get stuck in and earn your keep will be vital.
The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria:
• High level of proficiency in Solidworks
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to accept accountability for your actions.
• Previous Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Qualification in and Engineering Discipline.
