About Griffon Hoverwork Ltd
Griffon Hoverwork Ltd has been involved in the design, development, manufacture and operation of amphibious hovercraft for over 40 years. The company has sold more than 150 hovercrafts in over 35 countries worldwide, ranging from the jungles of South America to the freezing conditions of the Arctic. In the commercial role, their hovercraft are used for passenger ferries, survey work, civil engineering support, mobile medical clinics, search and rescue, and logistics. The hovercraft are also used by the navy, army and paramilitary clients worldwide.
Challenge
To design and manufacture the largest range of amphibious, diesel-engined hovercrafts available in the world today, from 6.80m to 37.2m in length with payloads ranging from 380kgs to 22.5 tonnes or 5 to 180 passengers. To offer the craft in different configurations to suit their customer’s requirements, from passenger craft to open well decked cargo carrying craft.
