SOLIDWORKS Basics – Weldments
Many real world designs use material cut from length. These
designs may be fabricated from plastics, metals or woods, but irrespective of
the material, all of these have one thing in common, an end profile that can be
captured in 2D.
The shape and size of material profiles, such as 40 x 40 x
2mm box section, never changes, so why keep sketching the same thing over and
over throughout the course of your design? Well, with SOLIDWORKS Weldments, you
don’t have to. A library stores all of your profiles and all you have to do is
create a frame sketch for where each length should run.
SOLIDWORKS Weldments are a great time saver and a must for
anyone designing with material cut from length. This webcast will guide you
through the basics of getting started with Weldments.
Throughout the course of this webcast we will look at;
- Creating a custom Weldment profile
- Adding properties to Weldment profiles
- Sketching a frame
- Adding Structural Members
- The Trim tool
- Cut-Lists
This webcast is suitable for those who have
recently completed, or are due to complete, the SOLIDWORKS Weldments training
course.
