EnterprisePDM History Report

Thursday August 30, 2012 at 3:04pm

EnterprisePDM records the history of all file transactions in the Vault. That means that if your best companies working practices ask you fill in the 'Check In' and 'Transition' comments with useful information then you have the ability to create a History Report with a couple of clicks.

Image #1: Check in with Comment

I saw this tip on the YouTube channel of a Canadian Reseller and thought it warranted sharing.

First locate your File in the Vault, select it and hit the History button either from the Toolbar or the Shortcut (Right Mouse Button) Menu.

Select History

Image #2: Select File History

Once open we can see the complete History for this file; Who and when it was checked it, who and when it was transitioned through the Workflow and what comments were made. Using the 'Print' button we can export this report either to a Printer or in this case to a Microsoft XPS file (native to Windows Vista and Windows 7) that can be used elswhere.

After hitting Print, select the XPS printer and use the Properties button to swicth to Landscape (via Layout)

Print to XPS

The XPS file should then open into the standard Viewer from where you can Copy / Paste the text as required.

Thanks for your time...
