The Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to support the continued growth within our professional services department.

The Project Manager role is focused on helping customer-facing Professional Services teams at Solid Solutions to complete the implementation and development of projects effectively and efficiently across a range of disciplines within the computer aided engineering and PDM / PLM areas.

As part of the Professional Services team, you will be working with sales managers, product managers and technical consultants to ensure project and customer success.

Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Initiate projects with clients and internal teams (email, internal planning calls, client kick-off calls, etc.).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Present templated project plans and standard processes effectively to clients and internal teams.
  • Coordinate meetings and collaboration between TriMech technical team members and clients, when required.
  • Maintain and update project plans and schedules as projects progress to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, help to identify issues, and manage changes in project scope.
  • Update, present, and circulate weekly status reports to clients and internal teams.
  • Organize and lead recurring client and internal planning / status calls.
  • Build and manage customized project plans with the assistance of technical team members.
  • Ensure thorough gathering and documentation of project requirements by the project team.
  • Conduct formal risk and issue management (RAID logs) and work with project team to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and report on project Earned Value (% complete vs. % budget spent) compared to original estimates.
  • Assist the Sales team in estimating potential projects (effort days/hours and calendar elapsed time).
  • Support Sales with content and input on Proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Assist with mentoring of junior project managers by providing guidance on project methodologies and best practices.
  • Assist with the development of new and refinement of existing project management templates, tools, and processes.
  • Assist with internal marketing of Project Management services by contributing newsletter articles.
Your Experience / Skills
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • You will possess a higher-level qualification, or be able to demonstrate suitable previous experience, in business administration, computer science, information systems, software engineering, mechanical engineering or another relevant technical field.
  • 1-3 years of Project Manager experience, preferably in project management of software implementations or software development.
  • Experience in either a Sales or Customer Service role is preferred.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP) is preferred for this position.
  • Communicate with a high degree of creativity, self-confidence and persuasiveness and being able to communicate at various levels throughout an organisation.
  • An understanding of both on-premise and cloud-based software deployments would be beneficial.
  • Physical requirements of job may include sitting or standing for extended period, walking, some lifting and carrying of objects up to 25 Kgs, typing/use of keyboard and phone, ability to travel to customer sites locally and occasional longer distance trips with overnight stay required (hence a valid driver’s license would be a major asset).
